Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall…
This beauty has it all. With a rich green as the canvas, these flowers POP. I have watched TONS of tutorials, tried all sorts of frosting tips, but in the end practice makes progress. Cakes like this have helped me find my artist side. I love the chance to bring a customer’s vision to life when they give me a color scheme and some inspiration photos and turn their vision into a reality.
The art of creating flowers for me involves looking at pictures and seeing them in nature. I love to have fresh flowers in my house to use as models and muses to create for cakes like this one. One of the best things about flowers like this is I can create them and freeze them if I need to for future use. The freezer is my friend. In order to successfully apply them to the cake, the flowers must go on frozen. One of my favorite parts of this process is making my buttercream (and sampling it of course!) and creating a color palette.
In have this fun carousel I keep all my colors that I work with in my kitchen. I mix and blend until I get the colors I need to bring these delights to life.
One of my favorite brands of colors is Colour Mills colors. Their peach color is one I use almost always. I can be bold if I need it or provide a soft blush. Here is my affiliate link on Amazon for this food coloring. https://amzn.to/3Sv7TxV (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)
