To the letter…
Recently I was going through some of my older posts on Instagram and I saw where I started. My goodness what a long road it has been! I really had no idea. I knew I could make a cake, follow a recipe, but I really didn’t know what I wanted to do or how.
I knew I wanted to start a business and make a go of it. Thanks to fellow artists sharing their talents and creations. This has become something I am passionate about doing as well. It’s one of the many reasons I started this blog.
This cake was so much fun to make. It was a real challenge to get the glass on top to appear to tip and dump the “paint” inside. I knew I wanted to have the icing on top appear as it was dripping over the edge. I LOVED the colors of this cake. My customer wanted the birthday girl’s name on the cake somewhere, but wasn’t sure of the best placement. Using inspiration photos to guide me, I thought it would be super cute to have more “paint” spill on the side of the cake with the name in the “paint”. I knew the name couldn’t be written in icing so I thought about using letter molds and modeling chocolate to make the letters. I think it turned out so cute! The pink just popped against the yellow.
